Sleep Apnea FAQs

How is sleep apnea diagnosed?

Sleep apnea is usually diagnosed through a sleep study. During the sleep study, your sleeping patterns and breathing will be analyzed. If you have OSA, we can design a custom appliance to treat your sleeping disorder.

Do mouthpieces/mouthguards help sleep apnea?

Yes. If you have OSA, we can create a custom appliance that repositions your jaw while you sleep. The appliance prevents your soft tissue from collapsing throughout the night and is more comfortable than being hooked up to a CPAP machine.

What are the effects of sleep apnea?

Sleep apnea can cause a variety of health issues if left untreated. Sleep apnea risks include:

  • Diabetes
  • Depression
  • Heart failure
  • High blood pressure
  • Severe migraines
