Dr. Hieu Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam, where his passion for dentistry sparked at just six years old. At eighteen, he moved to the United States. Despite the challenge of learning a new language, he courageously started high school over to build a strong foundation in English. His perseverance paid off, earning him honors degrees in Biology and Economics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, followed by his dental training at the East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine.
During dental school, Dr. Nguyen quickly distinguished himself in oral surgery. His exceptional skill and dedication were recognized with the prestigious Outstanding Student Award in Oral Surgery from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS). This award is given to only a select few students who demonstrate exceptional skill, knowledge, and patient care in oral surgery.
Continuing Dental Education
Dr. Nguyen believes that great dentistry requires a commitment to lifelong learning. He is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA) and the North Carolina Dental Society (NCDS). Through these memberships, he stays at the forefront of dental advancements, regularly attending continuing education courses and learning about the latest techniques and technologies.
